Beauty review: Bobbi Brown Weightless Skin Foundation SPF 15

I’m often asked for my honest thoughts on Instagram about the products I am gifted, so I have hereby decided to start putting up more detailed reviews here. The subject at hand for my first insta review is the new foundation formula from Bobbi Brown, which I spent the weekend playing with and (spoiler alert) am very much in love with.
Called simply Weightless Skin Foundation SPF 15, it is very much super lightweight in texture, which at first I didn’t think would give this medium coverage lover enough to work with but damn, was I wrong. Yes, you can barely feel it on your skin, but with the right concealer match strategically applied it more than performs for day and night (especially given that it’s waterproof, crease resistant and more).

I love that it gives you the movement and flexibility of bare skin but with a more polished look, making it a no-brainer for mature skin in particular. These days heavier coverage just ends up looking cakey on my skin, but formulas like this melt softly in for a ‘my skin, but better’ look. Oilier types will love the addition of the brand’s Smart Skin-Balancing Technology which controls oil all day without stripping skin, while the dry peeps amongst us with appreciate skincaring ingredients like hyaluronic acid and glycerine in the mix to help boost moisture levels exactly where needed. The aforementioned Smart Skin-Balancing Technology has been formulated so that skin is left feeling more balanced, which is mainly down to oil-absorbing silicas that help to control oil and shine without sucking up essential moisture.
The end result is a natural matte finish that feels comfortable and breathable, and the aforementioned oil control wizardry means that this will be an absolute winner on more humid days when you don’t want to watch your hard work slowly slide off in the heat. I prepped skin beforehand with the brand’s iconic Vitamin Enriched Face Base, the dream primer match and a multiple award winner since the day it landed.

Waterproof, sweat/humidity resistant, transfer resistant, fade resistant, crease resistant, non-caking, and designed to reduce the look of pores, this new formula is an absolute winner IMHO, and available right now.
