2025 OSCARS HAIR HOW TO : SELENA GOMEZ X RENATO CAMPORA
The 2025 awards season was a celebration of Old Hollywood glamour with a modern touch for Selena Gomez, and yesterday’s Oscars were no exception. The Emilia Pérez star wore a custom Ralph Lauren fit in a blush hue that was reportedly inspired by Sophia Loren, the off-the-shoulder dress embellished with over 16,000 glass droplets and Rosemont crystals—affixed by hand by 12 skilled artisans.
The skin-tone-matching, off-the-shoulder gown was complemented by a similar shade of nail polish—a mix of CND's Rule Breaker and Silk Thread—applied by her nail artist, Tom Bachik (who also works with the likes of Jennifer Lopez), and she looked a dream.
The Rare Beauty founder's makeup was, of course, flawless, with glowing-but-matte skin thanks to a combination of iconic Rare Beauty products like True to Myself Tinted Pressed Finishing Powder, Soft Pinch Matte Bouncy Blush, and Positive Light Silky Touch Highlighter. Makeup artist Hung Vanngo left the shine to her eyes and lips, with several shades of All of the Above Eyeshadow Stick and Stay Vulnerable Glossy Lip Balm in Nearly Petal respectively.
Last but by no means least, was the star’s chic lob courtesy of super stylist Renato Campora. “I was inspired by the silhouette of the dress and jewellery,” says Campora, “and with channelling the timeless elegance of Hollywood glamour. A deep side part and polished pin curls exuded sophistication and elegance.”

A HAIR HOW-TO VIA RENATO CAMPORA:
1. To prep Selena Gomez’s hair during award season, Joico Defy Damage Protective Shampoo and Conditioner are my go-to hair care products. They leave her hair incredibly clean and moisturized.
2. Next, I love giving Selena a three-minute all-over hair massage with Joico Defy Damage KBOND20 Power Masque for added bond-building and hydration.
3. Now that Selena’s hair is prepped and clean, I section off a deep side part. On damp hair, I apply both Joico JoiWhip Firm Hold Design Foam and Joico Dream Blowout Thermal Protection Creme, then rake them through from roots to ends. The combination of the Joico products and Dyson hair tools is a powerful combination that allows for a quick, round-brush blowout using the Dyson Supersonic™ r Professional Hair Dryer at high heat and high air flow settings.
