OSCARS HAIR HOW TO : ZOE SALDANA x MARA ROSZAK

It’s safe to say that Zoe Saldaña’s skin looked as radiant as her brand-new Oscar on Sunday night, complemented by a stellar makeup and hair look that further enhanced the ethereal star’s God-given inner glow.
The Emilia Pérez star, 46, took home the Academy Award for the Best Supporting Actress, and her official glam attack on the day kicked off with a facial using all Augustinus Bader at the hands of celebrity facialist, Lord Gavin McLeod-Valentine, global ambassador for the brand. The skin specialist has said that his goal was “to subtly lift and highlight her cheekbones and further define her jawline while amplifying glow and radiance” — and he certainly did.

Saldaña arrived at the Academy Awards in a Saint Laurent gown that featured a sheer jewel-encrusted bandeau and a voluminous layered skirt, and to complement the dress, Saldaña’s glam for the evening was a fresh take on elevated neutral.
The actress worked with Armani Beauty celebrity makeup artist Vera Steimberg, who used the Luminous Silk Foundation in shade 7.75 before brightening the under eyes with the Luminous Silk Concealer and sculpting Saldaña’s cheekbones and jawline with the Luminous Silk Foundation in shade 8.75. For extra shimmer, Steimberg then added Fluid Sheer Glow Enhancer Highlighter in shade 2 to Saldaña’s cheeks and to the tip of her nose.
The eyes were the focal point of her makeup look, Steimberg delivering a subtle, rosy finish to pay homage to her burgundy dress. The MUA applied Luminous Silk Creamy Bronzing Powder in shade 110 to Saldaña’s lids for warmth before mixing the Eye Tint Long-Lasting Liquid Eyeshadows in shades 10S, 56S, and 44S. The eye look was finished off with two coats of the new Armani Vertigo Lift Mascara, before Steimberg applied Armani’s Lip Power Lipstick in shade 108 and topped it off with Prisma Glass Lip Gloss in shade 02 for added shine.

Super stylist Mara Roszak created a hair look that referenced the actress’s Saint Laurent gown, with soft, flowing waves and an abundance of shine that enhanced but never detracted from the over all silhouette.

A STEP-BY-STEP BREAKDOWN FROM MARA ROSZAK:

1. Start by applying RŌZ Root Lift Spray to roots & Air Thickening Spray to damp mid-lengths and ends, with one pump of RŌZ Santa Lucia Styling Oil on ends for heat protection before blowing drying with the Dyson Supersonic™ Professional Hair Dryer at high heat and high air flow settings.

2. Then, set the hair in pin curls and spritz a thin layer of RŌZ Air Thickening Spray over the top and use the Dyson Supersonic™ with Diffuser attachment at high heat and high air flow to gently seal in the style and hold. Once pin curls are set, carefully remove the pins and gently brush the hair out.

3. Next, add a couple of rows of Covet and Mane Brunette Extensions in Portofino and Dubai to add fullness.

4. Using a 1-inch and a 1 ¼-inch curling iron, curl sections of the hair, alternating between the two-barrel sizes and rotating the direction of the curls to create a soft, natural look.

5. To finish, add one pump of RŌZ Santa Lucia Styling Oil, running it through the mid-lengths and ends of the hair to add shine and a subtle, piece-y texture.
